If Dayang was paradise, I really wonder how awesome heaven would look like! Being stranded on the island off the shores of M'sia without handphones and computers, it was really living a stress-free. With nothing to do but diving and more diving, I wished I could quit sch and live with the inhabitants there. The sand was soft, the water crystal clear and the weather perfect. I would run out of superlatives if I start describing whatever I see and I haven't even reached the underwater part yet. Compared to the waters in S'pore, the waters in Dayang were absolutely clear and blue where I could see the bottom of the sea from the jetty.
We left S'pore at 10pm and reached Mersing at 2am and took a ferry to Dayang where we arrived at about 7am. Obviously worned out by the journey, my new made buddies and I headed to the dorms and K.O.ed. Breakfast wasn't the best but nobody was complaining except me cuz i mistook the chilli for the ketchup bottle and ended up covering my food with chilli sauce. Terrible experience. We did 6 dives altogether in a span of 2 days. The amazing thing about diving is the ability to breathe underwater and swim around the fishes. Its sort of like living in an aqarium. The only tedious thing is setting up the scuba gear before each dive and dismantling it after. However, I only love the part where the diver has to jump into the water. With the scuba gear so heavy, we have to climb a step and take a giant step into the water. Which is sooo cool! My heart beats damn fast whenever its my turn to take the step. I love the adrenaline rush. I lost my mask once jumping into the water. It sank to the bottom and someone had to retrieve it for me. And another time during the night dive, my BCD got cranky and I couldnt inflate it. I got help and people started to surround me so that I could get a hold on them while fixing my inflator. That was a really scary moment. Most of the other dives went rather smooth only for another incident when we went deep diving at abt 30m. I ran outta air on the way up and had to share air with someone else. It was quite an experience cuz the current was so strong we finned our legs outta strength but were still at the same place. Our last dive was a leisure dive where we got lucky cuz we got to see a sea turtle. Almost all the divers surrounded it some taking photos while others stroking its shell.
I felt really sad leaving the place. I would give up my S'pore citizenship for a malaysian one only to live there all my life. The place only makes me a better Christian cuz if that's paradise, I'd love to see heaven at its highest point. Now that I've got my diving license, I make sure I'll follow uncle Daniel, David and Victor for their agreed annual dives.
