I refer to the Straits Times 6th of March, Home section front page which screams "ANIMAL ABUSE!!!"
Poor Siberan Husky! It's extremely unlucky to have such owners who do not understand it. The situation was rather complicated but it involved the dog biting a woman's hand. Her fiance, in turn reached for a bamboo stick and repeatedly beat the poor creature while it was chained up! Its not only inhumane, its vicious, brutal, sadistic and criminal!
"The court was told the beating had been so severe, the dog howled in pain and neighbours had to shout at Pam(accused) to get him to stop."
Reading the piece of unfortunate was rather depressing and saddening. More so after learning that the wicked man's sentence was only the paying of the medical bills of the dog and rehab at SPCA because the judge says "the beating was not premeditated as the dog had bitten the hand of the accused's girlfriend." Maybe the judge didn't consider it wasn't the victim that retaliated but instead, her fiance. Maybe he didn't consider the dog's owners not fully understanding the dog. Maybe the dog was provoked and that's why it bit.
I suggest the man be leashed to a grille and flogged. That would be justice done.
